About the Show

All entries for this show will be accepted from 6:45 to 7:15 pm at St John’s Church Hall

Notes:

  • Entries WILL NOT be accepted after 7:15 pm
  • Designs not already dimensioned are not to exceed 18” wide x 18” deep.
  • Photos are to be taken this year and be related to horticulture.
  • There is no restriction on height.

CLASS A – Designs

1. Tutti Fruitti
Design using fruit, fresh or dried
2. Low and Behold
Long (up to 24”) low arrangement
3. Design with Flair
Design using seed heads & pods, option to paint
4. Elf Size
Miniature design 5” in all dimensions. Dry, painted & fresh allowed
5. Winter Welcome
Wreath or swag, any size allowed
6. Toy Drive
Design incorporating a toy

CLASS B – Dried-Not Fresh-Designs

7. Garden Remnants
Use your imagination
8. Wall Flower
A wall hanging, in a frame or not, use your imagination

CLASS C – Photography

9. You Bug Me
Photo with more than 1 insect
10. After the Rain
11. Veg Out!!
Vegetables
12. Bloom at its Best
Single flower
13. Spring Fever
14. Eh, It’s Canada
Winter scene
15. Falling Leaves
Fall at its best

Must be vertical
Photo suitable for Yearbook cover; no human or animal life in the photo.

How to Exhibit

1. Refer to your Yearbook. Review the Rules. Check the entry listings. Check with committee members if you have questions.
2. Obtain entry tags early. Keep a supply of tags on hand.
3. Cut plant materials in late afternoon or early morning.
4. Keep plant material in water over night. Put in containers on the morning of the show. Keep in a cool place. Re-cut stems, if necessary. Keep daffodils in separate containers.
5. When accessories are allowed, do not let them dominate the designs.
6. The number of secondary flowers should not exceed the principal flowers.
7. You may receive extra points for naming the flower(s) on the entry tags.
8. Follow the details in the entry listing, ie, if it calls for three blooms, use three – not more or less.
9. Pack your entries carefully for transport.
10. Unload them in the holding area; ask for assistance if needed.
11. Remove entries promptly after the show.
